Modernising the Food Service Facilities at The Hub

HFC Group was appointed by Crown Facilities to strip out and refurbish the existing catering and food service area at The Hub.

The client required a modern, efficient environment that could support both self-service food provision and the day-to-day needs of the catering team. As The Hub remained a busy operational facility, the programme also needed to be carefully managed to avoid unnecessary disruption.

The existing area was stripped back before new plumbing and electrical services were installed to support the revised layout. HFC Group then completed the installation of the new commercial food servery, together with a dedicated self-service area and fully equipped staff kitchen.

New LED lighting improved visibility across the servery while helping to create a brighter and more contemporary environment. Fresh decorations and practical commercial finishes completed the transformation, providing surfaces suitable for the demands of a busy food service operation.

Wherever possible, work was completed outside normal operating hours. This allowed the refurbishment to progress safely and efficiently while helping Crown Facilities maintain its usual services.

The Outcome

The completed refurbishment provided The Hub with a cleaner, brighter and considerably more efficient food service environment.

The new commercial servery creates a clear and convenient self-service experience, while the separate staff kitchen gives the catering team a practical area in which to prepare and manage the service.

Careful programming and out-of-hours working allowed HFC Group to complete the project with minimal disruption to the client’s operations. The result is a modern, durable facility designed to support both staff and customers throughout the working day.
